From the 19th century to today
Casa de Baixo originally dates from about the first half of the 19th century, a single-family house owned by Ana Joaquina and her husband, later acquired by José Lourenço Avelar, husband of her daughter, Maria Joaquina Avelar.
After having ceased to serve as the main dwelling of the family (first decades of 1900), it was for several years voted to house animals and agricultural implements, followed by a long period without any use (and consequent deterioration).
In 2022, the house gains a new life through its remodeling and adaptation to a tourist accommodation.
